Biography of Mr. Sama Ghislain (aka BB Star)

Mr. Sama Ghislain was born on 14 February 1991 in Soup Quarter, Balikumbat, in the North-West Region of Cameroon. From a young age he showed a strong work ethic and creative spirit. After completing his First School Leaving Certificate, he apprenticed as a bike mechanic, training for three years before graduating and opening his own motorcycle workshop in his community.

Alongside his mechanical trade, Ghislain has long been passionate about music. His love for performance began with dancing, where he quickly became known as a skilled dancer. That talent opened doors into music; he started by singing with local artists in his village, developing his voice and stage presence.

As his confidence grew, Ghislain evolved into a modern musician, performing and hosting shows within the Balikumbat subdivision and beyond. While building his musical career, he also pursued education through an evening school, reaching Form Three. Unfortunately, the outbreak of the Anglophone crisis disrupted life in his village, forcing him to leave for Limbe in pursuit of stability and opportunity.

In Limbe, Ghislain continued his work as a mechanic, riding bikes to support his daily needs. He later acquired a car which he operated as a taxi, balancing this with steady exploration of his musical passion and adapting to life in a busy urban setting.

Despite these challenges, Ghislain’s commitment to music never waned. He continued writing and recording, releasing several singles that have entertained his growing fan base. His catalogue includes solo tracks and collaborations with other artists, where his performances are noted for their energy and connection with audiences.

Known artistically as BB Star, Ghislain has become a respected urban hit-maker with a soft, calm, and convincing voice. He blends contemporary sounds with deep cultural influence, drawing listeners who appreciate his style and lyrical expression. His childhood dream of becoming an artist is steadily taking shape as he expands his discography and reaches wider audiences.
